You can go beyond simply reporting on your Teamwork suite data with two way connections. Reassign tasks, adjust ticket priorities, or edit deal details straight from your Easy Insight reports.
Easy Insight supports two way connections with Teamwork Projects, Teamwork Desk, and Teamwork CRM. Using two way connections with Teamwork Projects, you can add, edit, and delete tasks straight from your Easy Insight reports, making changes across projects in a single view. You can reassign or change priority on Teamwork Desk tickets. Finally, you can create or edit deals in Teamwork CRM.
To get started, go to the Teamwork data source you want to use from the Home page, then click on 'Enable Two Way Connection' in the actions list:
The setup screen will explain which child sources are editable for your particular data source:
For Teamwork Projects, you'll get the option to install a two way prebuilt dashboard to help get you started: You can merge this dashboard into one of your existing dashboards, or add it as a separate new dashboard:
You'll also get the option to update your default drillthrough report to support inline edits. For example, you could click into a list of overdue tasks from a chart showing overdue tasks by assignee, then quickly update priority on the overdue tasks directly from the list.
Once enabled, you can use the prebuilt dashboard or create your own custom two way reports. To create your own custom two way report, open up the report editor on your data source by doing Create -> Create New Report. Click on the 'List' button to change the report type. You'll see the set of two way reports at the bottom of the window:
Upon choosing a report type, the editor will prompt you to start with an appropriate field for the two way report. For example, Teamwork Projects will list Milestone Name, Task Name, and Task List Name as fields, Teamwork Desk will list Subject, and Teamwork CRM will list Deal Title:
The set of available fields for editing will vary with the data source. For example, Teamwork tasks support changing the task name, completion status, assignees, tags, due date, start date, estimate, progress, and priority:
If you set up a tree report, you can create new tasks from task lists, new comments from tasks, and new milestones from projects. If you choose a two way tree, you could select Task Name as the starting field, Project Name and Task List Name as the hierarchy fields, and Comment Body as an additional leaf item:
You'll need to explicitly enable add (and delete if you want) for the different fields. For example, to enable add task on task list name, click on the green Task List Name field dropdown and choose Enable Add Task:
For adding comments, you'll want to do the same thing clicking on Task Name:
In addition to tasks, you can create or edit milestones:
You can also do bulk updates--for example, reassigning all tasks assigned to one person to another, or updating the priority for all tasks in a particular task list in a single action. For more information on bulk updates, see Bulk Update documentation.
You can create tasks from your help desk tickets or CRM leads using integrations.
